Keith is a third generation licensed Architect, he leads the efforts of the Kirley+ as Managing Partner. He has lived and worked in some of the most exclusive destination communities in the country including Aspen, CO and Nantucket, MA where he focused on high-end residential design with construction budgets ranging from $5M -$25M.
After graduating from The University of Notre Dame's Master of Architecture program, Keith headed West in pursuit of opportunities in Northern California. His experience included further high-end residential work, yet ultimately led to commercial and development management focused on small format residential housing in the Bay Area. Since founding Kirley+, his interests and experiences have converged into a multidisciplinary service offering on both the residential and commercial fields of architecture and building.
Keith believes strongly in the progression of the field of architecture and is constantly searching to improve upon the process of construction and design. This progression has led to his belief that Architects acting in the role of developer will ultimately serve clients better and create a single point of responsibility and contact for clients. He is constantly pursuing methods of delivery and searching for ways that new technologies can improve the way we work. At the base of his beliefs, he believes in the power of teams and strives to achieve an extremely high level of quality across all projects no matter the size.
Keith currently serves on the Mayacama Golf Club design review committee in the role of design review architect. He is also active in the AIA San Francisco Chapter serving on the the Architectural Licensure Committee as well as a Architectural Registration Examination Mentor and coach where he helps the younger generation of future architects pursue licensure in California and throughout the United States. Additional affiliations include membership in the Institute for Classical Architecture Northern California Chapter.
On a personal level, Keith is an avid skier and can often be found in Lake Tahoe and Aspen, CO in the winter enjoying the outdoors with friends and family. He was an accomplished athlete in his younger years which include 4 years as a varsity member and captain of Brown University's Ice Hockey team.
