Located in a picturesque valley in New England, this historic sawmill constructed in 1774 will undergo a transformation to bring new life to a once essential economic center of this community.  The development will focus on three primary elements including sustainability, preservation and economic viability.  The building, which will include a variety of industrial and commercial spaces, will be fully off-the-grid.  Power generation will come from a combination of solar and hydro-power.  Water will be collected through an on-site rainwater harvesting system.  Composting toilets with a wetlands leach field will supply the necessary sanitary facilities.  This 250 year old building will essentially run like it did when is was first built by some of the earliest settlers in the New England region with the exception of gigabit internet service.
